Admissions to Spanish universities

ADMISSIONS TO STUDY IN SPAIN: DEGREE

If you are from countries belonging to European Union, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra or China, or you have an European or international high school diploma, it is not necessary to take admission tests to access Spanish universities (PAU) before starting your studies.

Therefore the only admission requirement for those mentioned above is the validation of the high school diploma obtaining a document called Credencial UNED. This document is issued by an institution called UNED that belongs to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. In addition, each university in Spain can have their own specific tests, language tests or aptitude tests depending on the studies desired.

Pau - study in Spain

If you want to study in Spain and you are from a non European country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Andorra or China, it is necessary to validate your high school studies directly in the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports.

In the academic years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017, it is possible to take the admission test (PAU) to obtain an access mark to university, even though it is not necessary.

Besides each university can have their own requirements like language tests, aptitude tests or specific knowledge tests.

 

Foreign students who have already studied in the university in their own countries and want to study in Spain can get access recognising at least 30 ECTS credits in the Spanish university.

If you want to study in Spain and you have already completed a degree in your country, you can validate it directly in the ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and get the access to Spanish universities after the validation.

ADMISSIONS TO STUDY IN SPAIN: MASTER

 Master study in Spain

If you want to study master in Spain, it is necessary to request admission to the desired university in advance.

Spanish universities usually demand the following requirements:

  • Completion of a degree in a Spanish university or in a university belonging to European Space for Higher Education.
  • Completion of a degree and validation of it by the desired Spanish university. It is not necessary to validate the degree in the ministry.
